Just FYI, I already own all of the Bond films

I just finished writing an abstract to submit for a conference in March.  Whoo, presenting is a lot of work.

If any of you can see me on Gchat, you know that I have daily quotes that I put up under my availability.  Sometimes these are things I overhear walking around campus or in class.  Other times they are from books or articles that I am reading.  A lot are from movies (I really like film… among all the over stuff I do, I am supposed to write a screenplay at some point).  Yesterday’s quote (Whitney Winn ‘06 kind of hates 52% of Californians) was from the Flat Hat.  Anyhow, I’m going to try to put them on the blog description (the thing under the title) for all of you who the almighty Google has not deemed my friend. If you can guess where it came from, you get… to buy me a movie.

Out of the 191 spam comments I have gotten so far, about 170 have been for this post, which simply announced that I would be attending the Human Self Conference.  Meanwhile, the post I wrote about lacy underwear hasn’t gotten a single spam comment.  Does that seem right to you?

I had a conversation with a friend about anthropocentrism and science in the library today.  My feelings are summed up pretty well by this video on Youtube… which has been removed due to a terms of use violation.  Well crap.  Anyway, it was a clip of a discussion between Richard Dawkins and David Buss on evolutionary psychology from this DVD.  Buss’s point is that a lot of scientists, for whatever reason, don’t like to think that evolution applies to them, regardless of whether or not they accept that it applies to other animals.
